Green Bay Open - July 5 & 6, 2014

 It was quite a nice time playing a chess tournament again. I had been long deprived of the intense competition, and interesting atmosphere of public chess tournaments. Although my final score was only 1.5 out of five games...I still enjoyed myself!

My best friend William Schweitzer finished significantly better than I, scoring 3 out of five games.

The interesting thing is that this tournament was held at Oneida Casino in Green Bay, inside the hotel section. So there was no shortage of weird people walking the halls! :D

Round 1: Easy cake. :)

The playing site normally supplies water. ^_^

Round 2: Easy cheesecake. :}

"I'm bored."

Cha-Ching!

Oh yeah. And there's me.

In the main hall there were these odd displays with dolls representing the different native American "clans".

Awesome stonework!
Round 3: Losing to a little kid.

"This sucks."
 We had lots of fun, and we ate Taco Bell like twice. XD

P.S.
My best friend William is the man with the blue shirt in the first picture. Yeah. I KNOW RIGHT! He's pro. Yeah. I know. I KNOW!

  3. I still don't understand how on earth to score chess (haha, much less how to strategically play it) but it kinda looks like fun. I'll let you experience all the creepy casino drama, though. :)
