The Wisdom of Proverbs
Hello and good morning everyone! Today is a good day. Because: "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)
This morning I decided to read a Proverb. So...it being the twenty-third of the month, I just picked Proverbs 23. Verses that really stuck out to me:
4 "Do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding, cease! 5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? 6 For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven."
Okay. So, basically guys, don't worry about your income. If you have enough to get by, and live out of debt, don't overwork yourself. I cannot say that I have overworked myself before...I may have. But I am thankful for this good advice as I now am entering the work field full-time. Later in this Proverb, in verses 12...22-26 the importance of knowledge and wisdom is very clear. So, I do not fear that the Lord will provide as he sees fit as I work normal amounts of time, and pursue knowledge and wisdom rather than exclusively a more secure financial position. I don't think it is wrong to try to improve your job, and earn better income. But not at the cost of more important things I think. I also found more on this in Proverbs 2:1-11. Thanks to the handy-dandy MacArthur study Bible! :)
Verses 7, 8 of Proverbs 2..."He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints."
He is my shield. He guards the paths of justice. So they are safe to walk. :) He preserves my way! Oh how truly great it is to be God's child! He will provide. Even if times seem rough.
I also found verse 9 of Proverbs 23 to be interesting as well. "Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words."
I need to be careful...we need to take care when speaking wisdom. Because a fool will hate it. Despise it. I guess I always thought we should speak the truth and wisdom everywhere we go, to everyone. But I realize I need to take great care when speaking with fools.
Let me know if I am missing a point here guys! I appreciate any comments. :)
I hope you have a great day!

To my dearest and most wonderfullest:
Sorry about the quality of the sound and video...My fingers are BLUE from playing too much guitar today. I still need to memorize this song! :D Even though I wrote it, I don't know it by heart. Weird huh... But still. I shall post this for you.

Spending Time With BFF @ 1am - **Brace yourself**
Staying up 'til 1am at all is crazy, especially when you hang out with me. *HAH* But when best friends reunite after a whole winter of school and madness, there is bound to be unfathomable dorkiness.
WARNING: If you cannot laugh at us, do not watch. It will be painful if you look at it as anything but comedy. We are not trying to be stud mans. (For real)
We had the crazy and random idea to try to learn and sing some songs in the same night. o_O
You don't know you're beautiful
